چکیده

The canonical problem of the diffraction of a transient elastic plane wave by a semiinfinite fluid-filled crack in an unbounded, homogeneous, isotropic, dispersive solid is considered. The dispersion properties of the solid (and its associated loss mechanism) are accounted for by general, global relaxation functions that meet the causality criterion and encompass the influence of frictional forces and a Maxwell-type viscoelasticity that can be used to describe the temporal dispersion of seismic waves. The problem is solved by a combination of the Wiener-Hopf and modified Cagniard techniques, together with an appropriate correspondence principle that interrelates the transient elastic wave motion in a solid with global relaxation functions and the one in a perfectly elastic solid. Several examples are discussed and numerical results are presented. Introduction

Rigidity and Irregularity Effect on Surface Wave Propagation in a Fluid Saturated Porous Layer

The propagation of surface waves in a fluid- saturated porous isotropic layer over a semi-infinite homogeneous elastic medium with an irregularity for free and rigid interfaces have been studied. The rectangular irregularity has been taken in the half-space. The dispersion equation for Love waves is derived by simple mathematical techniques followed by Fourier transformations.  It can be seen t...

Diffraction coefficients of a semi-infinite planar crack embedded in a transversely-isotropic space

We have considered a semi-infinite crack embedded in a transversely isotropic medium and studied two special cases, one, in which the axis of symmetry is normal to the crack face and the wave incidence is arbitrary and another, in which the axis lies in the crack plane normal to the edge and the incident wave vector is also normal to the edge. The problem is of interest in Non-Destructive Evalu...

On Plane Waves for Mode-I Crack Problem in Generalized Thermoelasticity

A general model of the equations of generalized thermoelasticity   for an infinite space weakened by a finite linear opening Mode-I crack is solving. The material is   homogeneous and has isotropic properties of elastic half space. The crack is subjected to prescribed temperature and stress distribution. The formulation is applied to generalized thermoelasticity theories, the Lord-Şhulman...

Three-dimensional analytical models for time-dependent coefficients through uniform and varying plane input source in semi-infinite adsorbing porous media.

In the present study, analytical solutions are developed for three-dimensional advection-dispersion equation (ADE) in semi-infinite adsorbing saturated homogeneous porous medium with time dependent dispersion coefficient. It means porosity of the medium is filled with single fluid(water). Dispersion coefficient is considered proportional to seepage velocity while adsorption coefficient inversel...
